MMK, Сoskunoz launch 1 bln rbl car components plant in Tatarstan

YELABUGA, republic of Tatarstan, May 14 (PRIME) -- Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) and Turkish metallurgic company Сoskunoz have launched a 1 billion ruble MMK-Сoskunoz-Alabuga car parts facility in Russia’s republic of Tatarstan, according to the information obtained by PRIME on Monday.

The plant is located in the Alabuga special economic zone.

It will produce steel car parts for Ford Sollers and other domestic car makers. The projected capacity is 150,000 tonnes annually.

Viktor Rashnikov, MMK chairman and major owner, is sure the facility will be able to occupy a strong position on the market and reach its initial capacity of 60,000 tonnes of products annually soon.
